Trip Planner: Europe / Ireland / Western Ireland / Province of Connacht / County Roscommon / Boyle / Lough Key Forest and Activity Park
Thick with trees and rich in history, the forests and castle of Lough Key Forest and Activity Park give you a glimpse of what old Ireland must have looked like. The tower and tunnels are all that remain of the park's estate, but it is surrounded by hiking trails and campsites that offer access to the countryside. Start your visit at the lakeside center, where you'll find maps of the area, as well as a place to book boat tours across the lakes. Try the tree canopy walk far above the forest floor, or experience a 47-room indoor obstacle course. Some activities require advance reservation, so if there is something specific you would like to try, check the website for ticket information. Very nice park with versatile offer for the whole family. In addition to a walk in the park, we decided to walk on a jetty up to 10 meters in the tree tops, overlooking the forest and the Lough Key.
We spent 2 hours in Boda Borg and I'd recommend it highly. Ciaran helped our group and was brilliant! more »
There's lots to see and do for the whole family in Forest Park. A tree top canopy walk with lots of interesting info about the history of the park along the way. A nice restaurant inside with a lovely outdoor seating area. Very well equipped outdoor playground for the kids and plenty of green areas to stroll or kick football. The only downside is that everything seems to be quite expensive. €22 for a family to go on just the tree top canopy walk seems a little on the pricey side
Fantastic place to enjoy a full family day. I highly recommend Zipit experience. There is a big forest park with fantastic walks ,bike hire, a big lake with a boat renting, and a very good restaurant with a delicious food, not too expensive. If you spent 20€ or more you have free parking. You must show your ticket to the staff. Highly recommended place with many things to do
