Carbet Falls (Les Chutes du Carbet)
Noted by Christopher Columbus in his 1493 log, Carbet Falls (Les Chutes du Carbet) tumble down distant volcanic slopes. Three spectacular cascades descending in size and elevation make up the falls, the second (and most accessible) of which reaches up to 110 m (360 ft). Follow the snaking path on a 30-minute hike to the cascade, which sits at 660 m (2,200 ft); here, you can also explore the many natural hot springs nearby. However, due to earthquakes in recent years, full access to the second fall is at present restricted. Only experienced trekkers should attempt the more challenging hikes to the first and third cascades, which nevertheless reward your efforts when you get there. Don't forget to bring water. The falls are beautiful. You have to walk for a moment to see them, it's not too demanding. There are a lot of steps up or down, but they are quite wide. On the other hand the road to get there is quite chaotic.View original -

A good park. The drive is narrow in places, but there is a good amount of parking at the end of the road. A fun view of the waterfalls! Good informative signs. The bathrooms are not well kept though.

OMG! This was the highlight of my trip. What a beautiful sight. I climbed the rocks to get as close to the waterfall as possible. I'm not sure it was allowed but we did it anyways, just be careful! P.S. Depending on the time you get there, there might be a small entrance fee.
