Reach the summit of Pic du Jer via funicular railway for a fun and picturesque journey. The 80-passenger train climbs century-old tracks to the 1,000-m (3,280-ft) summit, linking the mountain to the pilgrimage town of Lourdes. From the train car, view the entire town with its red-roofed buildings, the surrounding countryside, and a 360-degree panorama of the adjacent valleys. The maximum steepness, or grade, is 56 percent, with a length of 1,100 m (3,610 ft) that cannot be accessed except by riding the train. If you have the courage to climb even higher after the resort it's even more beautiful. And if you have late or hot coming back to the station to arrive you will have something to take a break.
Da Lourdes abbiamo preso la circolare S4 (1,20 euro a tratta) che porta proprio davanti all'ingresso della funiculare per Pic du Jer. Get your tickets... 12.50 a/r we take the vehicle that is now 30 minutes and after a fascinating ascent with the 56%slope we got to the top. Bikes also have the place. On the Pic they also made the World Mountain Bike Championships. Up you can go around x 40 minutes to the caves. I think with 4 euros. Or make the different paths that take you down the mountain and to the top. Pleasant walk, short no particular slope and non-binding. Arriving at the top the view is spectacular.
Extraordinary views. Amazing ride. Cafe on top. To get to the top you need to walk a bit in maze of trails. It is worth it. Would go there again.
Beautiful location. Clean with great guides.
