  • This park is obviously much smaller (35,000 hectares) and less renowned than the Kruger, but it is also less crowded and cheaper. If you can, stay on site. And if you want tranquility, there is the Bhubesi camp, 14 kms from the main camp, just 6 small houses (self catering, of course). You can take a tour with a guide or go with your own car (except in the lions area, access reserved with guide only). Frankly worth a visit.

  • We stayed at the Hlane Game Reserve Chalet and had booked a morning cruise on site at the reception. Per person € 25.- - an absolute bargain - Africa travelers what is required in many other African countries for a 3-hour game drive. Payable by credit card. Already at night I heard the roar of the lions in the NP area sitting on the terrace. We start in the early morning at 6.30 am in an open safari car in which 13 people can be accommodated (3 Austrians, 1 French, 9 Dutch) - explanations in English. Already at the first gate we see a cheetah for a short time. After another gate we see the first lion male. We meet a pack of 5 lions (2 males + 3 female lions) right next to the fence. We get up to a few meters. When a male then rises and comes towards us we drive backwards in the sneaking aisle. We see an incredible number of animals - elephants, zebras, kudus and other antelopes, rhinos from a very short distance. I am happy about the incredible great pictures I was able to take during this three-hour game drive - I have been on a game drive in southern Africa many times, but I think I can say: that was the most impressive!!
