Jones Falls, Owen Sound

This location is easy to access with a parking pull-off right on Highway 6/21 just before you hit Springmount coming out of Owen Sound. There is more parking at the Owen Sound Transportation Company & Tourism Office, just north of Springmount. The trails leading to the waterfall are very easy to travel on foot and offer excellent views. There are no guardrails along the escarpment, so keep an eye on anyone that doesn't recognize the danger. The river in the area is very shallow in the spring with a gentle current, but beware in the spring with the thawing snow and ice in the area. The current is much stronger and the water is much colder. Overall, this is a nice gentle and easy hike for the whole family with excellent view points.

Definitely worth a visit! I have only been to the water fall - there was no time to explore the park further but it looked like you could spend some real quality time here. A sign at the entry of the park showed the different trails and where to find what. The falls were pretty amazing. I didn't expect them to be this big. And all the Green around created a beautiful picture. You could even get real close to the water, if you were brave enough.
