Hiking Trail · Nature / Park
Challenge yourself by trekking The Grouse Grind, an uphill trail referred to by some as "Mother Nature's Stairmaster." The 2.9 km (1.8 mi) route up Grouse Mountain started out as a conditioning trail for winter climbers, though it has now become something of a novelty route, with many visitors timing their ascent to the top. The challenging route has an average grade of 17 degrees (31 %), with much of it now consisting of wooden and stone steps. Whether you're looking to break the record (you'll need to be come in under 25 minutes), or take it at your own pace (the average trekker takes around 90 minutes), the trail offers a welcome test for visitors of all ages and abilities.
