At Victory Park, walk along the shore of a lake complete with sculptures and fountains that commemorate victory over the Nazis. The park was due to open on June 22, 1941, but on that same day Nazi Germany attacked the USSR. Notice the obelisk at the entrance dedicated to Minsk's heroes. See the victory fountain, which has 53 granite elements representing the number of divisions that liberated Minsk. Attractions include a beach, bicycle trails, a health trail, and a children’s playground. Cross a little bridge to get to a bird island--a wildlife reserve--that is home to a variety of birds, including some rare species. Victory Park reviews
The entrance really gave us a feel of an old Soviet Union area, with the large grey monument serving as the entrance. The park is really big, and great for a stroll. more »
Great to see WW2 from an eastern point of view - great exhibition! Shame that war with the finns in 1939-1940 was not bias - the finns kicked it the right way in the cold woods of Karelia more »
Lovely park that walks you through one of the most significant time in the history of Belarus. Great views and walking trails.
Really nice place to go for a walk, enjoy nature and spend some nice quality time alone or with friends. It is huge and with a lot of things to see/do, i recommend the birds island which is a fantastic place within the park.
